Clinical programs are developed and maintained completely in-house at NPS.
The clinical programs team includes doctors of pharmacy, nurses, and healthcare specialists. They manage drug utilization reviews, formulary development, prior authorizations, and a wide variety of clinical intervention programs.
Because NPS also has dedicated R&D, programming, and software teams in-house, the clinical programs team works alongside system experts on staff at NPS. This unique convergence of healthcare, technological, and economic intelligence preserves top-quality benefits, controls pharmacy expenses, and drives higher levels of member satisfaction.
NPS programs are designed to guide members to less costly, but therapeutically equivalent pharmaceutical choices. NPS support staff are available 24/7/365.
Drug Utilization Reviews
All claims processed through NPS’s proprietary system are automatically subjected to prospective, concurrent, and retrospective DURs. This enables NPS to review a patient’s prescription and medication data before, during, and after dispensing.
NPS’s prior authorization program is administered in house. The NPS clinical programs team has developed PA criteria they will share with you. To develop these criteria, the team evaluates a drug’s utilization, therapeutic efficacy, safety, and cost.
